Not Ashamed Of The Gospel - Romans 1:16

As Paul wrote to the church in Rome, he desired to come and teach them about their faith and establish them in the Word of God. Paul was excited that the Spirit of God was at work in this new church, and his heart was connected to these people even though they had never met.

Paul knew that they needed to understand why they believe the gospel so they can 1.) grow in maturity, 2.) gain confidence to share their faith, and 3.) withstand opposition to the good news of God.

Paul emphatically said: "I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes."

Paul was consistent as he shared with the early churches in Rome, Corinth and Ephesus, and we can use the same approach in the Church today.

Key Takeaways:

  • There is power in the Word of God apart from the person sharing it.
  • While we may feel pressure to change or soften the gospel, we must share the good news simply, accurately, and completely.
  • The better we understand what God has done, the more confident we will be to share our faith.
  • Don't worry if you don't feel skilled or powerful, trust that God will use you with His power to share His Word.
  • We should live in a way that makes our testimony credible and attractive to others.
